Technological breakthroughs and sustainability are fundamentally reshaping diaper core forming machines worldwide in 2026.

GDM, a Coesia company and global leader in disposable hygiene converting solutions, has launched the UP Plus platform, powered by its Core+ advanced core formation technology. The platform integrates fluff pulp with Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) to create a homogeneous, thinner, and more stable absorbent core while reducing product costs by up to 30%. Two configurations are available: UP5 Plus (500 pcs/min) and UP7 Plus (750 pcs/min). GDM’s CEO has identified three key pillars for future success: technology, sustainability, and flexibility, with production lines becoming AI-driven for real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.

On the green technology front, ANDRITZ showcased its absorbent hygiene product (AHP) recycling system at INDEX26 in Geneva (May 19-22, 2026). The technology separates SAP, fluff pulp, and plastics from Diaper Production waste, enabling closed-loop recycling and reuse of valuable raw materials.

This directly supports the industry’s rapid shift toward biodegradable materials and circular economy models. Additionally, modern Diaper Machines are now designed to handle biodegradable and recycled materials without sacrificing speed or product integrity. These innovations collectively demonstrate that the core-forming machinery sector is at the forefront of both automation and environmental stewardship in the global hygiene products industry.
