How do students from Wellington College International Shanghai mould a new future for Chinese folk art?
In today’s episode of We.Connect we talk with Kevin. Kevin graduated from Wellington College International Shanghai in 2019. After earning a degree at the University of Southern California, he returned to China with a reinvigorated passion for China’s many timeless artistic traditions. He is now committed to preserving, promoting and developing Huishan clay figures. At his newly opened café in Wuxi, he provides a venue where local artists can showcase these distinctive works and introduce this traditional Chinese folk art to a new generation of enthusiasts.
This Shanghai private school call the graduates ‘Old Wellingtonians’ or OWs because, in this Shanghai school’s view, they never really leave the school. Once a Wellingtonian, always a Wellingtonian. And it is in this spirit that this British school Shanghai have launched We.Connect, a new alumni platform that brings the Wellington College China Community a wide range of benefits — from networking opportunities to mentorship programmes and so much more.
